Mindful of the precarious life of an actor, and drawing on his previous work experience, he decided to give himself some security by establishing an Irish language summer school for teenagers in Bun a' Leaca, which Keith will help to run this year.
While Keith says its "pretty cool" seeing his brother on television, he doesn't harbour any ambitions of his own to appear on the small screen.
"Gavin has a brilliant personality, and is a great brother to have," he says. "I'd never want to swap lives with him though, because I can't bear to be in the limelight at all. Sure, I even find parent-teacher meetings hard enough!"
