A performance by Last Choir Standing finalists Ysgol Glanaethwy descended into farce after English speakers in the audience complained they couldn’t understand everything being said.
The choir’s co-founder and conductor Cefyn Roberts was told in the interval by theatre staff that fans weren’t happy about him using so much Welsh at Llandudno’s Venue Cymru.

When he tried to apologise in English at the start of the second half of the performance, his words were met with slow-clapping “ironic applause” from English speaking sections.
But it also sparked booing from some Welsh speakers, not happy about the pressure he’d been put under…
