Y Pair

…de icWales:

One of Arthur Miller’s most famous plays has been translated for Welsh audiences. Writer Gareth Miles tells Karen Price what it was like reworking The Crucible

Translating a world-famous play must be no easy feat but Gareth Miles has worked his magic on Arthur Miller’s The Crucible.

His Welsh-language version,
Y Pair, will be premiered by Theatr Genedlaethol Cymru in Bangor next week before it embarks on a tour of Wales.

The novelist, playwright and former scriptwriter for Pobol Y Cwm says he hopes that his translation would have won over American writer Miller, who died three years ago at the age of 89.
