Caoimhín Mac Brádaigh

...de la Belfast News Letter:

The Culture Minister yesterday blasted a decision to name a new Irish language group after an IRA man.

The DUP MLA was speaking while attending his first Irish language event when he said calling a supposedly democratic body after a terrorist was a despicable bid to play politics with gaelic.

Sinn Fein president Gerry Adams announced earlier this week that one of two new Irish language forums being established by his party would be named after Caoimhin Mac Bradaigh - an Irish speaker and IRA member shot dead by Michael Stone at Belfast's Milltown cemetery 20 years ago...
. . .

“When I was in court, I could still see Kevin Brady. He had a brave face. Kevin Brady was a brave man.”
~Michael Stone
